    • Dust off your shoes from any mud, grass, etc. to help our class stay tidy.

    • I'm not a fan of making trips back outside after the bell rings.

  • Entering the Classroom

    • Once you enter the classroom, conversations need to be completed.

    • Look at the screen for the day's Bell Ringer. Also have a look at our agenda on the whiteboard--this will help you be most ready to go.

    • Ready Desk: Have your name tent standing on top of your agenda/planner. The agenda/planner should be open to the correct day/date. Also have your pencil, red pen, and blue pen on top of your agenda/planner. Binder and SSR book belong in the basket under your chair.

    • If the Bell Ringer suggests we're using laptops, set your Ready Desk items at your desk, and grab a laptop first

    • Begin working on the Bell Ringer or SSR by the time the second bell rings. First Period students need to be ready for the Pledge of Allegiance by the time the second bell rings.

  • During Class

    • All students are expected to participate in activities, discussions, and learning.

    • If you have a question, concern, or contribution, please raise your hand and wait until it’s an appropriate time to speak.

    • If you need to sharpen you pencil, feel free to use a hand-held sharpener or wait until it’s appropriate to use the electric sharpener.

  • Be resourceful

    • If you don’t have the materials you need, quietly ask someone at your group.

    • Ask me ahead of time (before class or after school) for any needs you may have.

  • Be considerate

    • Hold your personal questions until before school or after school. Ask if you can meet with me before school or during lunch.

    • Prioritize—what goes on the top of your important list and what goes on the bottom.

  • Listen & Follow Directions

    • Stop, look, listen. Wait until you’ve heard and understood directions before you go and do. Wait until I give you the green light or I say “go”.

    • Show me that you’re listening—body language and actions are so important in active listening.

  • Packing Up & Dismissal

    • Please wait until you are given permission to tidy and pack up.

    • Remember: the bell will ring but it won’t dismiss you from class—your teacher does the dismissing. The classroom, desks, etc. must be left clean, clear, and ready for the next class.

    • You may bring a water bottle to class that contains water only. No flavored drinks or juices.

    • Reusable water bottles keep down the amount of recycling in our classroom.
